Distribution of Death Benefits
Section 37C of the Pension Funds Act provides for the payment of a retirement fund death benefit to dependants, as defined in terms of the Act, and/or nominees. The process as outlined in terms of Section 37C is often not fully appreciated, nor understood by trustees and one that seems to create disputes between not only the dependants involved, but the trustees at times too.

The Distribution of Death Benefits course provides trustees, manco's and advisors with sufficient information to understand the process to be followed when distributing death benefits, and more importantly understand the intention behind the legislation. This will assist in educating not only trustees, but subsequently their members in accordance with their requirements.
